Hong Kong - "Twelve Animals of the Lunar New Year Cycle

Lunar New Year is the most important Chinese festivity that follows a 12-year Chinese Zodiac cycle.
This stamp sheetlet captures all twelve Lunar New Year Animals in the third Series. The pattern of the stamps strung together in a conventional order symbolises happy reunion and endless blessing.
The Animals come vividly alive against a backdrop of Chinese paper cutting - a highly skilled and expressive folk art often used for home decoration to usher in a favourable year. The paper-cut floral design in gold and red on the stamp sheetlet adds to the joyful mood of the Spring Festival.  A very nice sheetlet which adds to the colourful collection of  your stamps.

2011 YEAR OF THE RABBIT

The Chinese believe a person born in this year is very fortunate!
Soft spoken rabbits find happiness and contentment. Rabbits are gracious with excellent manners. The rabbit's soft, vulnerable looking exterior is protected by an armor of cautiousness. Rabbits are considerate, understanding, warm, friendly, and easy to be with.
To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, stamps have been issued round the world.
